TRAN GIA KHANH – BECOME AN AWESOME PERSON TO MEET AWESOME PEOPLE
We often joke, “An ounce of luck is better than a pound of wisdom,” but in the case of Gia Khanh, a fresh graduate in Electrical Engineering, it’d be “wisdom and luck”.
Being a standout student of College of Engineering & Computer Science, Gia Khanh is known for being one of a few students awarded with the President’s List and the Vingroup scholarship to pursue a Master’s degree at the University of Pennsylvania—one of the world’s elite universities. Additionally, he is one of the promising faces in the field of Embedded Systems Engineering. Gia Khanh’s achievements are often likened to having ‘superpowers,’ but few know that he also had moments of ‘helplessness’ during his journey at VinUni.
Entering university, Gia Khanh experienced many ‘first-time’ struggles and challenges in adapting to the new life of ‘independence and self-reliance.’ To quickly adapt to university life, Khanh joined several clubs at VinUni to expand his networking circle and build healthy relationships. A great strategy would be meaningless if Khanh sowed the wrong ‘seeds of fate.’ Fortunately, Khanh admits, “My luck was meeting amazing teammates, like my buddies in the VinUni Badminton Club. I am deeply grateful to those who’ve helped, listened, and stood by me during tough times. Without the support of my friends and also my professors at VinUni, I might not have become the Gia Khanh of today.”
This experience also made Khanh more aware of the importance of building relationships. However, Khanh wasn’t just ‘randomly lucky’ to meet such great companions. Khanh himself is a wonderful person with openness, dedication to friends, and an absolute passion for Engineering—something clearly evident when you find the pride in Khanh’s voice as he talks about his field:
“I love embedded systems engineering because of its complexity. The combination of hardware and software in systems brings out my competitive spirit, just like the times I stayed up all night solving tough Physics problems in high school. The feeling of overcoming new challenges is a unique and special motivation for me. Moreover, I see the potential in this field. Embedded systems are everywhere, from smart home devices to control systems in cars and medical equipment. The diversity and wide application of this field attracted me. With the current trend of the Internet of Things (IoT), where the era of connected and automated devices is rising, the demand for embedded systems will only increase”—Khanh enthusiastically shared.
When asked about his future plans, Gia Khanh said he would continue his advanced studies because mastering his chosen field is a difficult journey. Though the future remains uncertain, we believe that “wisdom and luck” and the fact that “luck” is a special kind of ability from Khanh’s openness, which will help him succeed. We wish Khanh to soon conquer his ambitions and succeed in pursuing embedded systems programs for the world!
