Biography
Dr. Roshan Peiris received his doctoral degree in Physical anthropology from Nihon University, Japan. He started his academic carrier at the Department of Basic Sciences, Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka in 2001. He has been a Professor in Anatomy at the Faculty of Dental Sciences since 2016. In addition, he has served as an academic fellow at the School of Dentistry, Universiti Sains Malaysia from 2021-2023. Therefore, he has teaching human Anatomy and research experience of more than 20 years. His current research focus is exploring the evolution and migratory pattern of ancient humans based on dental and physical anthropological findings and forensic anthropology.

Dr. Peiris was awarded the Japanese government scholarship to gain his PhD in Japan. He has received the Sri Lanka National Research Council Merit Award for Scientific publications, several best conference paper awards and several research grants and travel grants. He has delivered several prestigious orations and guest lectures. He has served as a reviewer for many top-tier international journals and co-editor in several editorial boards of scientific conferences. He has been a resource person for several academic workshops.
