Tran Tuan Minh
90% Scholarship, Bachelor of Business Administration
His experience studying at VinUni in the Spring semester as an exchange student consolidated Tran Tuan Minh’s trust in the university’s quality of education as well as his resolve to become a VinUnian. Prior to this, Tuan Minh was studying in the US and graduated valedictorian from CATS Academy Boston.
According to Minh, it was the “people” that attracted him to consider VinUniversity at first. Besides the team of world-leading Professors and Doctors, VinUniversity’s community of talented students plays a role in building this dynamic and creative academic environment, where Minh believes he will be able to learn a lot of useful knowledge. “What VinUnians have in common are affability, friendliness, and the willingness to learn. Moreover, despite being only freshmen, students all have sharp critical thinking and problem solving skills.”
Having studied abroad in the US for many years, Minh was able to quickly get up to speed with VinUniversity’s Active Learning method and the online learning management system, where there is an abundance of resources available. The fact that students were encouraged to take an interdisciplinary approach to problems made lectures more exciting for Minh and helped him develop his observation and analysis abilities.
Now officially a student majoring in Business Administration, Tuan Minh had the opportunity to take part in the Entrepreneur Lab (E-lab)’s Incubation Program with his UpYouth project, which managed to secure funding of $2000 from VinUni. By participating in the program, students not only receive funding for their projects, but also receive intensive training from mentors who are successful start-up entrepreneurs. Teams will have to experience all the necessary phases of building a startup: Fundraising, Prototyping, Pricing, Sales, etc. Introducing UpYouth, Minh shared that this is an organization which aims to help young startup entrepreneurs in industrial sectors by organizing talk shows, sharing fundraising tips, connecting businesses, and so on. The project is in its pilot phase and will soon be available in the near future.
