Biography

Prof. Viet (Anh) Dang is a Professor of Finance at Alliance Manchester Business School, the University of Manchester, the UK. He is also an editor of the Journal of Business Finance and Accounting (CABS3* and ABDC A*), an internationally recognized outlet for research in accounting, corporate finance, and governance. His current research interests are empirical issues in corporate finance and sustainability.
Prof. Viet Dang joined AMBS after successfully completing a PhD in Financial Economics at Leeds University Business School, the UK; his PhD thesis was awarded the Best PhD Paper Award at the Financial Management Association (FMA) European Conference. His recent studies have been nominated for various Best Paper Awards at the FMA Annual Meetings and European Conference and the European Financial Management Association (EFMA) Conference. His research was funded by the UK’s Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Productivity Institute (TPI) and has appeared in world-leading finance and management journals, such as the Review of Financial Studies, Management Science, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, and Journal of Financial Markets. His research findings and their policy implications have featured in the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance and Forbes.
Prof. Viet Dang has been Postgraduate Taught (PGT) Programme Coordinator in the Accounting and Finance Division at AMBS, overseeing a portfolio of four specialist MSc. degree programmes, namely, the MSc. Accounting, the MSc. Accounting and Finance, the MSc. Finance, and the MSc. Quantitative Finance. He was previously Director for the MSc. Accounting and Finance and the MSc. Finance and Business Economics. Prof. Viet Dang has taught various courses on corporate finance, quantitative methods (econometrics), and sustainable finance and he has supervised several MSc dissertations and PhD theses.
