Biography

Stephen is an English instructor with 8 years of experience, who has taught in South Korea, the US, and Vietnam. After receiving his Bachelor’s in Anthropology and International Affairs from Florida State University, Tallahassee in 2010, he obtained a TEFL certificate to teach English as a foreign language and began teaching in South Korea. Following this experience, he obtained a Master of Arts in Linguistics and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University of South Florida, Tampa in 2014. He was then asked to join Gangneung-Wonju National University in South Korea as a visiting professor in the English Literature Department and remained there until 2019. During this time, he taught courses in conversation, composition, Business English, English History, and Linguistics. He also completed Module 1 and 2 of the DELTA (Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) by Cambridge. In early 2019, he moved to Vietnam with his wife, where he taught Academic English at RMIT University in Hanoi before coming to VinUniversity in February 2020.
