Alyssa A. Grissom is an Advanced Practice Nurse from the US that has 13 years specializing in oncology both in small community and large academic health systems. She worked 8 years as a bedside nurse and upon completion of MSN degree and board certification as an Advanced Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist, her role the last 5 years has shifted to the training of oncology nurses, quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes, and developing oncology related policy, procedures, and protocols based on evidence and national standards. She has expanded her professional interest to the specialty of cancer genetics through a certificate in cancer risk assessment and in the future will pursue an academic degree in personalized medicine as well as her PhD in nursing.
