ABOUT VINUNIVERSITY

The Vingroup Science and Technology Scholarship Program for Overseas Study for Master‘s and Doctoral Degrees is managed by VinUniversity under the Academic Engagement and Global Exchange Department. For 11 years starting from 2019, Vingroup will offer numerous scholarships each year for outstanding Vietnamese students to pursue Master‘s and Ph.D. degree programs at leading universities worldwide. The mission of the Vingroup Scholarship Program is to find talents and provide them with rewarding opportunities so that they can lead and advance the development of science and technology in Vietnam in the future. By March 2024, the Vingroup Scholarship Program has over 170 scholarship recipients enrolled at top-ranked universities in different countries.

The Vingroup Scholarship Program Officer is an integral member of VinUniversity‘s Academicl Engagement and Global Exchange Department. The incumbent is responsible for administering holistically the Vingroup Scholarship Program from application and selection process, communication, promotion to record-keeping. In addition, the incumbent will support external engagement activities of VinUniversity as required from time to time.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Academic Engagement Officer (Scholarship Program) is an integral member of the Academic Engagement and Global Exchange Department of VinUniversity. The post holder will be tasked with executing activities related to the administration and execution of the different activities of the Vingroup Science and Technology Scholarship Program as well as general academic engagement responsibilities.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

(Report to: Head of Academic Engagement and Global Exchange Department)

  • Providing support to the Vingroup scholarship application and selection process, including administering the online scholarship management system, preparation for interviews, communicating results, and conducting follow-up activities including handling paperwork as required
  • Promoting the Vingroup Scholarship Programs and coordinating the marketing activities, including written and visual content for social media engagement
  • Responding to inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Serving as the point of contact for Vingroup Scholars and Nominees, applicants and external stakeholders
  • Monitoring the academic performance of the Vingroup Scholars and the status of the Alumni and supporting them with the re-integration process
  • Keeping accurate and up-to-date system records and maintaining the database
  • Providing support to VinUniversity‘s external engagement duties as required

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university.
  • At least 03 years working experience in program administration, executive assistance at an international development organization, non-profit agency, university, international education organization.
  • Demonstrate experience in meeting organization, project planning, financial literacy, and task prioritization.
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for contributing to develop a world-class education in Vietnam and have a strong commitment in managing a long-haul program.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Highly developed communication skills including; well-developed interpersonal, negotiation, networking skills and coordination.
  • Excellent computer literacy skills – MS office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Good analytical skills and ability to manage budget and navigate accounting practices.
  • Good time management skills, resilience, ability to multi-task effectively and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Adaptability, proactivity and flexibility are key assets.
  • Well-organized person and a team player.
  • Ability to provide exemplary account management and responsiveness to a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with faculty, staff, and students as well as community groups of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both in English and Vietnamese.
