VinUniversity’s Global Academic Recruitment Tour 2026: Building Bridges Across America’s Leading Universities

June 19, 2026

From the halls of Colorado’s Convention Center to the corridors of Harvard, MIT, Carnegie Mellon, Johns Hopkins University and University of Pennsylvania, VinUniversity embarked on an ambitious academic tour across the United States. This journey brought our faculty and leadership face-to-face with some of the most distinguished minds in global research and higher education.

Over the course of the tour, our delegation connected with more than 250 people — including more than 100 in-person meetings with professors, distinguished scholars, PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and university leadership. The reflection of the trip is clear: the future of education is built on collaboration, and VinUniversity is always ready to be a part of that story.

Denver, Colorado: CVPR 2026

The tour opened at one of the most prestigious events in the field of AI: the IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR 2026), held at the Colorado Convention Center.

VinUniversity’s presence was a statement of intent. Our faculty team engaged with researchers and peers from institutions around the world, exploring new avenues for collaboration at the cutting edge of the field.

The Denver leg concluded with an academic gathering that brought together 20 faculty and researchers for an evening of open dialogue on research synergies and partnership opportunities.

Cambridge & Boston, Massachusetts: MIT and Harvard University

From Denver, our delegation traveled to Cambridge for unforgettable events.

At MIT, we connected with the Global Programs office to explore deeper institutional ties — with conversation that laid out the groundwork for a long and fruitful relationship between our two institutions.

Later, Harvard University welcomed our team for in-depth engagement with PhD students and postdoctoral researchers. These are the ones who will define the next era of research, so meeting them in person truly reinforced VinUniversity’s commitment to attracting and nurturing world-class talent.

The day closed with an academic gathering in Boston, bringing together scholars and collaborators for a rich evening of conversation about the future of education and innovation. It was one of the tour’s most memorable nights.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: University of Pennsylvania

Philadelphia marked a turning point in the tour, with a visit to one of America’s oldest and most storied universities – the University of Pennsylvania.

Our team met with UPenn’s leadership to discuss shared goals, institutional collaboration, and pathways for meaningful partnership. We are delighted with the alignment in values: a shared belief in interdisciplinary research and a commitment to impact.

Engagement sessions with UPenn’s PhD students and postdoctoral community were energizing, filled with conversations that showcased the depth of academic ambition that defines this institution.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: Carnegie Mellon University

Few universities in the world embody the spirit of innovation quite like Carnegie Mellon University, and our visit to Pittsburgh proved it.

After a warm welcome from CMU’s Global Strategic Initiatives office, our delegation was taken through a carefully curated program that spoke to the breadth of CMU’s excellence: an introduction to the renowned Heinz College, a hands-on Biomedical Engineering lab tour, and a welcome session with CMU’s Provost – Professor James H. Garrett.

A Career and Professional Development overview offered insight into how CMU prepares its graduates for global impact — a model that resonates deeply with VinUniversity’s own mission. The afternoon ended with a Scholars Meet & Greet, a vibrant session that directly brought the tour’s themes of talent and collaboration to life.

Baltimore, Maryland: Johns Hopkins University

The tour ended where ambition meets legacy — at Johns Hopkins University, one of the world’s foremost research institutions.

An Information Session at Hackerman Hall brought together scholars and researchers from across disciplines, opening up conversations about collaborative opportunities that span biomedical engineering, technology, and beyond. Meetings with distinguished faculty strengthen what we had felt throughout the entire tour: VinUniversity is recognized as a credible and exciting partner by world’s leading institutions.

By the Numbers

  • 250+ people connected across the tour
  • 100+ in-person meetings with professors, scholars, researchers, and university leaders
  • 10 days of intensive academic engagement across the United States

What’s Next: We’re Coming Back And Going Further

Next month, VinUniversity will return to the United States for the Academy of Management (AOM) Annual Meeting and head to Seoul, South Korea for the International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML 2026). We look forward to deepening existing relationships forged on these two journeys, and building new ones with the broader global academic community.

We are deeply grateful to every institution, every faculty member, and every student and scholar who opened their doors to us. You have inspired us, challenged us and reminded us why this work matters.
