On April 11, we wrapped up an incredibly insightful session, “Secure The Offer, Master The Onboard”, with VinUnians across all Colleges and cohorts joining to enhance their interview skills and prepare for the transition into the workforce.
We were honored to welcome Mr. Thang Nguyen, Managing Partner & CEO of Aloha Consulting Group (ACG), as our distinguished guest speaker. After graduating from Kent University in the UK, Mr. Thang returned to Vietnam to pursue his passion as a professional “headhunter.” With nearly 15 years of experience in the executive search industry, he brought in-depth industry knowledge and practical advice to our students. We also observed a demo interview he had with one volunteer student and gained lots of good feedback.
Mr. Thang, ACG and Hion experts guided students through final stages of the recruitment journey and what it takes to excel in the onboarding phase.
𝟱 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿:
- Interview mindset matters: It’s not just about answering questions correctly. It’s about structuring your responses, staying authentic, and demonstrating a growth mindset. Recruiters are seeking more than technical skills – they want to assess your potential and cultural fit.
- Make every word count: Time is limited, so be structured, straightforward, and speak with genuine enthusiasm.
- Mock interview sessions with experts will give you the opportunity to practice, receive real-time feedback and build confidence in presenting your stories.
- Onboarding success = relationship-building: Find mentors, connect with your colleagues, take advantage of networking opportunities and intentionally integrate into your team culture.
- Securing the offer is just the beginning. Your first 90 days define how you grow.
Tran Nguyen Quang Khanh (College of Business and Management, Third-Year Student) shared: “The event was well-organized and ran smoothly. The mock interview was helpful, and I hope the sharing session could be a bit longer next time.”
We are deeply grateful to the incredible Mr. Thang Nguyen, Ms. Phuong Kieu, Ms. Tra Tran and Ms. Huong Do for generously sharing their expertise and inspiring our students. We are also thankful to VinUni leaders, faculty and staff for your inspirational sharing and presence.
Shout-out to all our amazing VinUnians who brought their enthusiasm and curiosity to the workshop! See you all in the next workshop!
