Last week, VinUni leaders had the honor to participate in, and speak at, the Association of Pacific Rim Universities – Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APRU-APEC) University Leaders Forum 2025. Held on May 12–13 in Jeju Island, Korea, the Forum this year was themed “Leveraging AI in Higher Education to Address Asia-Pacific Challenges”. The event brought together over 120 participants, including university leaders, faculty, international exchange officials, and global corporate representatives.
Prof. Sunmee Choi, VinUni Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, served as a distinguished panelist in the session “The Future of Universities with AI,” where she joined leaders from leading universities to discuss AI’s transformative impact on higher education. She underscored the pivotal role of universities including VinUni in responsible AI integration, curriculum innovation, and preparing students for an AI-driven workforce. Prof. Choi also shared VinUni’s ambitious vision to become one of the Top 100 universities in the world, emphasizing its commitment to research, innovation, global collaboration, and a student-centered approach. Her insights sparked vibrant discussions and resonated deeply with the international audience.
The Forum served as a dynamic platform for university leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to explore collaborative, inclusive, and responsible AI adoption strategies, ensuring equitable access and addressing key challenges across the Asia-Pacific region.
VinUni extends its sincere gratitude to APEC, APRU, and Pusan National University for organizing this inspiring and thought-provoking event.
