VinUni officially offers the Residency Program in Diagnostic Radiology
VinUniversity officially offers the Residency Program in Diagnostic Radiology (RPDR) this academic year, increasing the total number of Residency programs to 5.
This program inherits the advantages of developing residency programs with U.S. partners according to the standards of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-International (ACGME-I). The program’s goal is to train a team of ethical, competent diagnostic radiologists, who are proficient in clinical practice, scientific research, and professional soft skills to work independently, thrive in demanding environments, and contribute to improving diagnostic radiology’s quality in Vietnam.
Outstanding candidates who are sixth-year medical students will be admitted to the program after their applications are approved and they undergo the IFOM® Clinical Sciences Exam (CSE) and the interview round. The rigorous initial selection process and advanced training programs ensure the quality of outcomes according to high domestic and international standards. The standards of the RPDR are developed according to international standards (ACGME-I) and will be implemented from the early days of enrollment, ensuring the personal development trajectory of RPDRs towards excellent results.
The RPDR program at VinUni has a duration of 4 years following the ACGME-I standard and is directly taught and supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Van Giang – Director of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology at Vinmec Healthcare System, Head of the Interventional Radiology Department at the College of Health Sciences, VinUni, and also the Director of the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program. RPDRs also receive dedicated guidance from experienced professors, doctors, and specialists who work according to international standards at Vinmec Healthcare System, Central Military Hospital 108, and National Children’s Hospital, and in the final year have the opportunity to study abroad at VinUni’s partner institutions. Residents at VinUni are also provided with employment opportunities within the Vinmec Healthcare System.
The RPDR is directly taught and supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Van Giang
The RPDR program also receives up to 90% tuition sponsorship from Vingroup JSC, and our residents will receive a stipend starting from their first year of study. With a 90% scholarship, students will pay an additional 100 million VND annually.
VinUni’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and close collaboration with partner institutions (Vinmec International Hospital, Central Military Hospital 108, and National Children’s Hospital,…) will create exceptional practice environments for our residents. RPDRs at VinUni will be able to access the Advanced Imaging Education Center (AIEC), where they will encounter real-life cases prepared meticulously by experienced instructors and international educators. This exposure will provide students with practical experience, addressing the limitations of traditional methods often heavy on theory, light on practice, and lacking in systematic data. Moreover, RPDRs can participate in more specialized projects and advanced training courses through these platforms.
In addition to the rich array of practical resources, students have access to valuable academic materials at VinUni’s Library, including specialized books, reputable electronic journals worldwide, software, and free medical academic data, among others.
