POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide consecutive or simultaneous interpretation services for medical consultations, hospital visits in clinical setting (hospitals and clinics) from Vietnamese to English and vice-versa.
- Ensure clear and accurate communication during medical interactions.
- Ensure translations are culturally appropriate and sensitive to the patient’s background and beliefs.
- Adapt medical terminology and explanations to suit the target language’s cultural context.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient and medical information.
- Work closely with healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and administrative staff, to understand context and specific requirements.
- Attend meetings or briefings as needed to align on translation needs and expectations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Have Medical Interpreter certification.
- IELTS > 6.5 or equivalent.
- Experience in healthcare / medical education or completed a medical/health science degree is a plus.
