THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Scientist experienced in extracellular vesicle (EV) research for Research Institute of Stem Cell and Gene Therapy (VRISG), College of Health Sciences, VinUniversity. The successful candidate will perform a wide range of translational research and contribute to advancing our therapies for treating unmet diseases.
The candidate will work in a prestigious and international scientific environment at College of Health Sciences, with opportunities to develop their career in both academic and non-academic tracks.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Design, conduct, and analyze experimental studies related to extracellular vesicle (EV) research in anti-aging therapy.
- Perform R&D activities focused on (i) EV applications for health improvement such as geriatric health, frailty, sexual hormone deficiency, and (ii) EV applications for rejuvenation and cosmetics.
- Perform literature review to stay updated on new research trends on EV technologies and applications.
- Write research proposals, reports, and other documents for responsible projects.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences; Apply patents for intellectual properties.
- Apply external grants to secure funding for research projects.
- Mentor and supervise junior researchers, laboratory technicians, and graduate students.
- Participate in conferences, seminars, and training sessions as assigned by Institute Board of Directors and College of Health Sciences.
- Assist with various financial and budgetary tasks, including preparing and monitoring budgets, preparing reports, and utilizing appropriate processes to pay for goods or services related to the responsible projects.
- Ensure all research activities comply with institutional policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Institute Board of Directors.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Educational Level/Professional Qualification:
- Ph.D. in Medical Science, Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy or related fields.
Relevant Experience for the Position:
- At least 7 years of work experience at reputable universities, research institutes, or hospitals.
- Experience working at foreign research institutions (PhD or at least 2 years of Postdoc).
- Experience related to stem cell biology, extracellular vesicle research or related fields.
- Experience in design, implementing, and monitoring research projects in the field of biomedical research.
- Proven track record of conducting high-quality research, with publications in reputable journals (at least 3 publications in peer-reviewed journals, of which at least 2 publications as first or corresponding authors).

- Proficiency in software tools to support data analysis and reference management, such as FlowJo, Prism, Endnote, etc.
- Programming is of advantage.
ENGLISH PROFICIENCY
English is the language of teaching and communication at VinUniversity. For this role, the candidate needs to have an excellent written and verbal communication skill in English. The minimum requirement is IELTS (Academic) with a score of at least 6.0 (or equivalent).
