ABOUT CENTER FOR ENVIRONMENTAL INTELLIGENCE
Center for Environmental Intelligence at VinUni aims to serve as a technology hub for future innovators and facilitate connections among experts from around the world to collectively solve sustainable development issues on a global scale. THE OPPORTUNITY
This is an on-site role for a Laboratory Technician at Center for Environmental Intelligence located in VinUni campus, Hanoi. We offer a competitive package for a one-year contract with the possibility of renewal based on funding availability and performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performing day-to-day laboratory tasks, including operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, conducting quality control tests, and utilizing analytical skills. The role requires strong laboratory skills and the ability to assist laboratory technicians.
- Procurement process: Preparing purchase orders and ensuring they are processed in a timely manner. Coordinating with the procurement or finance department to facilitate the purchasing process.
- Installation and training: Coordinating the installation and setup of new equipment. Ensuring that staff are trained in the proper use and maintenance of new equipment. Working with technical support teams to address any initial setup or operational issues.
- Operating and maintaining equipment: Using and maintaining laboratory instruments. Calibrating and troubleshooting equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Documentation: Maintaining detailed and organized laboratory records. Documenting procedures, protocols, and experimental results accurately.
- Training and supervision: Training junior staff or new technicians. Supervising and guiding laboratory assistants or interns.
- Other tasks assigned by CEI Executive Director.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- Laboratory Equipment and Laboratory Skills
- Quality Control and Analytical Skills
- Experience as a Laboratory Technician
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- English communication with B-level or equivalent
- Experience in a research or academic environment is a plus
