Global Exchange Info Day 2024
On November 1st, VinUni Academic Engagement and Global Exchange Department (AEGE) successfully hosted Global Exchange Info Day, attracting over 150 enthusiastic students and distinguished guests. The event offered an immersive experience into the global exchange journey, providing students with vital insights and guidance for studying abroad.
1. Welcome Remarks by Provost
The event began with inspiring welcome remarks from VinUni’s Provost, Prof. David Bangsberg, who emphasized the importance of international exchange experiences for fostering global perspectives, adaptability, and cross-cultural understanding. He encouraged students to take advantage of the diverse opportunities that await them, highlighting VinUni’s commitment to supporting students in their journey toward becoming global citizens.

Ms. Hanh Bui, Head of the Academic Engagement and Global Exchange Department, gave an insightful overview of VinUni’s Global Exchange Programs and the different international education exchange tracks, programs and activities that VinUni via AEGE Department offers to the students. She encouraged students to embrace these opportunities as valuable pathways for both personal and academic growth.
3. Interactive Role-Play by Exchange Students
A unique, dynamic role-play performed by VinUni students, Program Director, Representative from Colleges and Global Exchange Office demonstrated a journey of an exchange student starting with the application process till when they return back to VinUni after the exchange term. This role-play provided students with a vivid view of what to expect at each stage of their own exchange journey.
4. Sharing Session with VinUni Exchange Alumni from around the Globe
A sharing session featured four exchange students, each representing a different continent – Australia, America, Africa, and Asia. Thu Hien from CBM, VinUni alumus who studied at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in Spring 2023 and now works as a Marketing Officer at VinUni highlighted the importance of understanding cultural differences between workplaces in Vietnam and abroad, encouraging students to take part-time jobs to experience international work cultures. Reflecting on her time in Australia, she described the country as a melting pot of cultures, offering unique interactions with people worldwide.
As with Chinenye, an international CHS student who just returned from her research exchange program at CAPRISA in South Africa, if there is one piece of advice to all VinUni students, that would be “During your time as a VinUni student, at least once participate in one of the amazing exchange opportunities offered by the University.”
5. Consultation Booths
To offer individualized support, consultation booths were set up, staffed by officers from the Global Exchange Office, Vingroup Scholarship Program, and Financial Aid Office. These booths provided information on scholarships, financial aid options, and personalized guidance on each step of the outbound exchange, integrated degree program and graduate study process.
