50 CECS Students to Receive Full Scholarships for Masters Programs at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), USA
In order to create development opportunities for talented students, for five consecutive years from the 2024-2025 academic year – when our first batch of students graduate, the VinUni-Illinois Smart Health Center (VISHC) will annually grant 10 full scholarships to the best College of Engineering and Computer Science students. These will allow them to pursue a Master’s degree at the College of Engineering, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), as part of the 4+1 Integrated Bachelor’s – Master’s Program. UIUC currently ranks 4th in the US for postgraduate education in Computer Engineering, and is among the Top 15 universities with the greatest number of Nobel laureates worldwide.
In addition, VISHC will provide additional income for 30 VinUniversity second-year students or above in all disciplines for their participation in research projects as research assistants, with a total value of up to nearly 700 million VND per year. Each VISHC research project will be led by at least one VinUniversity professor and one UIUC professor. Students will be trained in research skills by a team of PhD students, Postdoc, and professors at VISHC.
The VinUni-Illinois Smart Health Center (VISHC) is a result of the cooperation between VinUniversity (VinUni) and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) – USA. Its core emphases are biotechnology and data science. This project is granted 13.5 million USD by Vingroup to work towards building and developing research that has positive impacts on human health at low cost and high accessibility.
