Popularizing Life Support Training According to AHA’s Standards

Within the collaboration framework between the VinUniversity Medical Simulation Center and the 175 Military Hospital Simulation Center, in January 2022, the VinUniversity Medical Simulation Center organized 2 Instructor Training Courses in Basic Life Support (BLS) program and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) to 31 doctors and nurses of the 175 Military Hospital.

The ACLS and BLS Instructor Training Courses are specialized courses designed and offered by the American Heart Association (AHA), to be taught only by experienced AHA-certified instructors. By participating in the course, learners are equipped with knowledge of the principles of simulation-based training, AHA-standardized ACLS and BLS training principles, core competency requirements for instructors, etc.

After a week of training, 16 doctors and nurses received the BLS instructor certificate, and 15 doctors and nurses received the ACLS instructor certificate from AHA. These learners will be the core personnel in the 175 Military Hospital Simulation Center. After the course, the VinUniversity Simulation Center remains committed to supporting and guiding instructors of the 175 Military Hospital Simulation Center until these instructors can teach independently.
