Homi Yamada

Full Scholarship, Medical Doctor

“VinUniversity has given me the opportunity to achieve my dream of making a positive impact on the Vietnamese healthcare system,”  says Homi Yamada. Homi is one of the outstanding students who have been awarded a full scholarship to study at VinUniversity in the Medical Doctor program. The daughter of a Japanese mother and a Vietnamese father, Homi used to study in Canada but decided to return to Vietnam to study for a Doctor of Medicine at a local university.

The international curriculum and the promise of an excellent education at VinUniversity convinced Homi that it would be worth it to start over again for her medical education so that she could realize her true potential and pursue her dream of becoming a medical doctor. 

During her time in Canada, Homi was an outstanding student with an excellent academic record: straight As in all her courses in Canada, high scores in Advanced Placement (AP) tests in the international high school curriculum, and a very high IELTS score.

During her admission interview at VinUni, she delighted the interviewing faculty with her thoughtful questions and responses. Besides studying for school, Homi has actively participated in research on the human body, and found time for community activities, particularly in health and safety training and best practices in the workplace.
