Ekaterina Balashova

With a keen interest in mathematics and computer science, Ekaterina has nurtured passion and enthusiasm for Algorithm and Machine Learning since she believes these two areas are the perfect combination of maths and computer science. Ekaterina has started to learn programming since grade 8. She has joined her school’s olympiad programming club. With great passion and tireless effort, Ekaterina has achieved Winner Diploma of Lomonosov High School Mathematics Olympiad (national level); Prize Winner Diploma in Russian State High School Programming Olympiad (regional level) and Gold Medal awarded for high school graduates with perfect GPA.

Moreover, Ekaterina excels in English. She has been awarded Prize Winner Diploma in Russian State High School English Olympiad (regional level); IELTS 8.0; TOEFL 111 and SAT 1530 (top 0.5% worldwide).

With outstanding academic achievement, Ekaterina said that she could easily apply to any leading university in Russia. However she is determined to attend VinUniversity, hoping to embark on a new, fascinating journey. Ekaterina has successfully attained 90% Scholarship from the College of Engineering and Computer Science.
