“VinUni – a Small Community with a Huge Network”
“VinUni has such a huge network of academic and business partners, therefore students have a lot of opportunities to connect with them for internships and study exchange.” – Mai Xuan Tra, a student at the College of Business Management said. In her opinion, VinUni’s strategic partnership and collaboration make the school itself so unique and outstanding.
Tra has just finished her second year, yet, she has had a lot of interesting work experience and extracurricular activities. “I took part in the Vinpearl Future Leaders program as an Assistant to General Manager, and worked as a Research Assistant for my professor, which helped to enhance my knowledge about hospitality industry and data analytics skills.” – Tra shared. In addition, Tra is a member of VinUni Culture Club and the Youth Hospitality Association. She also runs several community projects and has a podcast channel sharing her stories and lessons.
As a Hospitality Management student, one of the most interesting courses was Introduction to the World of Wine: “Tilt the glass at a 45-degree angle. Shake it 5 times. Hold it from the chest to the chin to the nose. Take a sip. And finally, stir the wine into the palate. Now I understand the color, flavor, and extraction of wine, from which I can guess the winemaking method and region of origin.” – Tra told.
Tra realized that we can learn about the culture just by discovering a small component of it, like drinks. Thanks to this eye-opening course, Tra is inspired by hospitality services, which should be professional, genuine, and fun.
When Tra applied to VinUni, she was a second-year student at another top university in Vietnam. She said: “Reflecting on my past decision, I am happy that I was determined enough to follow my dream. My friends in old school will be graduating by next year while I will be studying my third year. Let my soul be one year younger.” (Smile 😊)
