VinUni expands global footprint in Canada: Strengthening partnerships and showcasing Vietnam’s educational excellence at CBIE 2025

VinUni Global Engagement representatives recently concluded a highly successful mission to Canada this November, forging new partnerships and strengthening ties across student exchange, joint research, and faculty mobility. 

VinUni proudly participated in the largest international education delegation led by Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) at the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) 2025 Conference from November 2-5, which welcomed over 1,300 global participants.

Key Highlights:

VinUni’s Collaboration Accomplishments Recognized: At the ASEAN-Canada Roundtable, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thu Thuy, Director of International Cooperation-MOET, highlighted VinUni’s achievements, including sending 32 students to Canadian institutions for exchange over the past three years, 12 of whom are SEED Scholarship recipients, alongside research collaboration with Canadian institutions.

Expanded Partnerships: VinUni strengthened collaborations with leading Canadian institutions, including University of Toronto, University of Alberta, McGill University, The University of British Columbia, and Polytechnique Montréal. Through the International Partnership Day, VinUni fostered dynamic B2B engagement in international education.

Showcasing Excellence: At the Vietnam Pavilion, VinUni attracted strong attention from global education leaders with its modern campus model, innovative programs, and global partnerships.

University Engagement: Connecting with Partners and Students 

The delegation visited partner institutions, including University of Toronto and Queen’s University to connect with 6 current VinUni exchange students. VinUni also hosted an information session at Queen’s University, attracting over 35 students interested in exchange opportunities in Vietnam.

At Polytechnique Montréal’s International Mobility Fair, VinUni served as the only Vietnam representative among 38 partner universities, showcasing Vietnam’s higher education sector and laying groundwork for new student exchange agreements.

Advancing Scholarship Access with Global Affairs Canada 

The delegation met senior leaders from Global Affairs Canada | Affaires mondiales Canada to discuss the SEED scholarship program. As of November 2025, 12 VinUni students have been awarded this scholarship, reflecting the university’s global engagement and commitment to expanding international opportunities.
