Vingroup Awards 98 Billion VND in Science and Technology Scholarships for the 6th Season, 2024

From 2019 to the present, the Science and Technology Scholarship Program (S&T) has awarded 210 scholarships worth more than 690 billion VND to talented scholars, giving them the opportunity to study and conduct research at prestigious universities around the world. For this year’s program, over 800 applications were submitted by candidates from within and outside of Vietnam, and 36 outstanding individuals were selected to receive the 2024 S&T Scholarship from Vingroup.

The scholarship award ceremony took place in a joyful and solemn atmosphere at VinUniversity on July 5, 2024, with the participation of leaders, ambassadors, and all 36 scholars who were awarded the 2024 S&T Scholarship by Vingroup.

After nearly 6 years of implementation, 70 out of the 210 students in the program have completed their Master’s and Doctoral degrees. Among them, 36% of the Master’s graduates continued to receive scholarships from prestigious universities such as Oxford, Harvard, Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, Melbourne, Queensland, etc., to pursue their Ph.D. studies. Additionally, 23% of the scholars are currently working at renowned research institutes or global organizations to gain experience before returning to Vietnam. Meanwhile, 33% have completed their programs and returned to Vietnam, taking on roles as lecturers and researchers at domestic universities and research institutes, including the Institute of Information and Communication Strategies, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, the National Economics University, VinUniversity, the University of Science – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, Foreign Trade University, and others.

The “Science and Technology Scholarship Program for Master’s and Doctoral Studies Abroad” was established by Vingroup in 2019 with the aim of identifying and nurturing Vietnamese talents to become leaders in the future development of Vietnam’s science and technology. The Scholarship Program is one of many annual community activities by Vingroup, falling under the “Social Philanthropy” sector, which is one of the three pillars of the group’s development strategy: industry – technology, commerce – services, and social philanthropy.
