The professors at VinUni advised transforming Nha Trang City into a green destination

VinUniversity will work closely with Nha Trang City to carry out research and provide consultation for the “Green Transformation, Sustainable Growth” project through this cooperation agreement.

VinUniversity signed a cooperation agreement with the People’s Committee of Nha Trang City to implement the “Green Transformation, Sustainable Growth of Nha Trang” project. The event took place within the framework of the international conference “Green Transformation, Sustainable Growth of Khanh Hoa Province – Nha Trang Model” on January 18th.

Through this cooperative agreement, VinUniversity will work closely with Nha Trang City to carry out research and provide consultation for the “Green Transformation, Sustainable Growth” project. After the project gets approved, the university will also be the consulting unit on implementation for Nha Trang City.

This project aims to develop a detailed strategy and specific measures to transition to a green, environmentally friendly, and sustainable city. It also proposes framework policies as a basis for the city to coordinate with Khanh Hoa Province in developing specific policies within its jurisdiction. The project will also propose specific policies to the central government to create breakthroughs in transforming into a green city.

Dr. Le Mai Lan – Vice Chairwoman of Vingroup, President of the VinUniversity Council, shared: “Through close cooperation, we hope to help Nha Trang become an examplary city for sustainable development. We aim to provide maximum support to raise the quality of living, working and tourism in Khanh Hoa Province. VinUni will strive to connect domestical and international resources, to organize and cooperate in implementing research tasks, pilot models for green transformation and sustainable growth.”

As planned, this project is expected to be officially approved in March 2024 and receive approval at the ceremony commemorating the 100th anniversary of the construction and development of Nha Trang City.

With the hope to finds solutions to build “Green Nha Trang City” model in the near future, Mr. Ho Van Mung – Chairman of Nha Trang City People’s Committee – stated his determination to pioneer in green transformation and sustainable growth and achieve goals to prevent climate change, especially in accordance with the commitments of the Vietnamese Government at COP26.
