Within the framework of the National Conference on “Implementation Plan for Politburo Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthrough development in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation” held in Bac Ninh, VinUniversity has officially signed a Cooperation Program for research, development, science-technology application and innovation for the 2025-2030 period with the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
Speaking at the event, Professor Laurent Marc El Ghaoui, Vice Provost of VinUniversity, affirmed the commitment to invest intellectual and technological resources to transform scientific ideas into specific, practical solutions. “We focus not only on academic research but also on creating practical values for Vietnamese society. VinUni’s direction will continuously expand its role in the science and technology ecosystem, contributing to building a green economy, smart agriculture, and sustainable social development,” the Professor emphasized.
Dr. Phung Thi Viet Bac, Head of Research Administration of VinUniversity, shared Vingroup’s achievements in developing a green transportation ecosystem, including VinFast, VinBus, and XanhSM electric taxi services, contributing to reducing CO₂ emissions and improving urban air quality. Dr. Viet Bac also introduced VinUni’s ongoing projects such as Digital Twin for urban transportation helping to reduce carbon emissions, smart charging systems integrated with renewable energy, energy storage material technologies, and the 360° air quality monitoring network in Hanoi.
The cooperation program establishes four focus areas: Environmental Intelligence applying AI and new technologies; Marine conservation and development of high-tech aquaculture models; Urban environmental management with advanced solutions; and Climate change response through technologies supporting Vietnam’s NDC commitments.
This signing ceremony is part of the public-private partnership strategy that the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is promoting to attract resources from businesses and the private sector to participate in scientific research. It also demonstrates Vingroup and VinUni’s commitment to transforming research achievements into practical solutions, contributing to promoting sustainable development for Vietnam.
