HOW TO APPLY
We are delighted to inform you that the Application for Outbound Student Exchange Program (OSEP) for Spring semester 2026, AY 25 – 26, Batch 1 is NOW OPEN for full-time VinUni students with the details as follows:
As of August 2025, more than 350 VinUni students have participated in the outbound exchange program. You can learn more about their experiences by following our social media channels such as the Global Engagement Fanpage, or by joining our Group “VinUni Students Going Global”, where you can ask questions about specific destinations or programs. Our exchange alumni are happy to support and share their insights with you.

Eligibility
- Currently be an active full-time student at VinUni.
- Have good academic standing at least 2.5 CGPA (cumulative grade point average minimum) at the point of application and meet the minimum academic requirements set by the host university.
- Have no major disciplinary action (Level 3 and up) at the time of application submission.
- Have completed at least 2 academic semesters at VinUni prior to the OSEP and after the OSEP have at least one academic semester remaining at VinUni before graduation. All students of Cohorts 2023 and 2024 are eligible to apply.
- Have an account of good financial standing at VinUni.
- Meet all the minimum requirements including the language requirements set by the host institutions (Please refer to this LINK for the minimum requirements set by the host universities).

Important Notes:
- Each host university will admit a certain number of exchange students from VinUni. Please refer to HERE (Choose Number of students to be exchanged for Spring 26) for the list of partner universities, available exchange slots, and college-specific availability.
- Please find the shared link of Outbound Student Exchange Program Information Pack – Spring Term 2026.pdf for your preparation for your application and preference for your program if you are nominated.
- Before applying for a program, it is important to do thorough research on the preferred university, consider which course(s) may be studied abroad and the impact study abroad could have on your degree progress. The number of exchange slots on reciprocal basis is limited and application is competitive so please select a wide range of opportunities to increase your chance of being accepted for an exchange program.
- Students can select up to three host universities for each batch in order of preference.
- Call for applications will be open for different batches depending on the timelines and agreement set by each host institution. Please check the APPLICATION INFORMATION (accessible when logging in using vinuni.edu.vn email account) for the list of university options you can choose along with other essential information for your application including the eligibility criteria set by the host universities, available courses, timelines, factsheet on living and studying at host universities, etc. You can also access VinUni procedure on Outbound Student Exchange via this link.
Expenses/Financial support
- VinUni students joining this outbound student exchange program will not have to pay the tuition fees to the host universities but continue to pay the tuition fee to VinUni during the exchange semester.
- Students will need to take care of the travel, visa, accommodation, insurance and personal living expenses and any administration and facility access fees required by the host universities.
- Nominated students can have a chance to apply for the Global Exchange Student Ambassador (GESA) grant. Please refer to this link for financial aid procedure including GESA grant: HERE. The call for the grant will be announced by the VinUni Financial Aid Office (FAO) later. VinUni students should proactively reach out to external scholarship support to apply for the student exchange programs as needed.

Notes: When being nominated for the partner universities, students may have to submit additional documents as required by different host universities such as a letter of recommendation.
Application Procedure
Step 1: VinUni students do research about the program and study the requirements of the program at APPLICATION INFORMATION.
Step 2: VinUni students submit their applications to the Global Exchange Application Form (Your VinUni login required) by the application deadline.
Step 3: Applications will be evaluated by the VinUni Review Committee.
Step 4: Evaluation results will be announced to students for nomination acceptance.
Step 5: GEO sends the list of VinUni nominated students to partner universities.
Step 6: Nominated students submit their applications to partner universities following their application process.
Step 7: The partner universities review the nominations/applications, makes the final decision, and issues the Letter.
Selection Criteria:
- Academic Excellence: A strong academic record proven by GPA and any academic achievements.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV): A detailed CV highlighting your academic achievements, extracurricular activities, work experience, and any relevant skills or qualifications.
- Statement of Motivation: A compelling personal statement outlining your motivation for participating in the exchange program and how it aligns with your personal, academic, and social goals as well as how you see overseas study impacting our degree program and influencing your future.
- Awards: Recognition from VinUni or external awards.
- Additional Criteria: Other relevant factors that demonstrate your suitability for the exchange program. Other criteria as set by each host university, if any.

Application Timelines
- Application Deadline: 6:00 PM, August 24, 2025 (Vietnam Time) for SNU, HKUST, POSTECH and EBS.
- Application Deadline: 6:00 PM, August 31, 2025 (Vietnam Time) for remaining universities.
- Result Release: From Sept 2025. Time may be subject to changes depending on the timelines set by each host institution.

Step 4: Evaluation results will be announced to students for nomination acceptance.
Step 5: GEO sends the list of VinUni nominated students to partner universities.
Step 6: Nominated students submit their applications to partner universities following their application process.
Step 7: The partner universities review the nominations/applications, makes the final decision, and issues the Letter.
