Congratulations to VinUniversity Students for Winning 2nd Prize in Asia-Pacific at the Virtual Student Market Competition

Surpassing other teams from Asia-Pacific, 5 VinUniversity Hospitality students excellently won 2nd Prize at the Virtual Student Market Competition. The VinUniversity team was highly appreciated by the Judging Panel for their in-depth research into national annual reports, as well as their ingenuity and professionalism when presenting their findings.

The market that the VinUniversity Team selected for analysis was Qatar – where the FIFA World Cup 2022 will be held in less than one week.

“Our story of Qatar’s transformation from a country entirely dependent on crude oil and natural gas to a service economy, with a continuously increasing supply and demand for accommodation – demonstrated with figures – won over the Judging Panel.” – shared Le Trung Kien, a member of the team.

The Virtual Student Market Competition – organized by STR (Smith Travel Research, a hospitality market analysis company) – is a global competition that challenges young people to analyze and interpret data models, from which they can report on market conditions and help stakeholders make decisions. This year’s competition attracted students from leading universities and schools in ​​​​hospitality-related disciplines regionally and globally, such as The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Beijing Hospitality Institute, Lyceum of the Philippines University – Batangas, Taylor’s University – Malaysia, etc.
