[CECS DAY] Finding Solutions to Support Telemedicine

Instead of taking the conventional final exam to complete CECS1010 (Introduction to Engineering and Computer Science) course, students at the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) participated in an interesting techfest named CECS Day where they teamed up to take on the challenges of designing a feasible product in the field of telemedicine, coupled with a robot competition.

By finding solutions to support telemedicine, students not only proved their technical capabilities in approaching problems and designing prototype, but also had to take potential market factors and product applicability into consideration. In the next stage, students at the CECS had to convince “the investors”, whom are students at the College of Business Management “to provide capital” to their projects.

Under the tutelage of an advisory board comprised of faculties, professors from VinUniversity College of Engineering and Computer Science, College of Health Science and College of Business Management, and experts from VinBrain which specializes in developing and integrating AI into medicine and medical image diagnostic, team Rareveal achieved the first place with an app that queries and interprets medical data for rare diseases. They were also the most outstanding team in raising capital from students at the College of Business Management and won the Alibaba prize.
Meanwhile, Best Poster Design and Best Presentation awards went respectively to Dr. Roboto for a mechanical arm that addresses infectious diseases, and HOFA for tele-diagnostics solutions for helping patients kept at home. Besides, in Robot Competition category, the warriors from team 13 took the lead with their excellent algorithm and agility during the contest.
