VinUniversity is a private, not-for-profit university established by Vingroup – the largest private conglomerate in Vietnam. VinUni aspires to become a university of excellence with a mission to develop talents for the future.

The University has built strategic collaborations with Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania — a choice that speaks to our commitment to excellence, innovation in research and teaching, and to making a difference in the world.

VinUniversity comprises of College of Arts and Sciences; College of Business and Management; College of Engineering and Computer Science; and College of Health Sciences. Every aspect of the University: its curricula, research, faculty, student body, facilities, and campus life, is developed to meet the highest standards set by the world’s leading accrediting and ranking organizations, such as ABET, AACSB, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), and Times Higher Education (THE).

The institution has also signed collaboration agreements to offer integrated dual degree with leading universities in computer science, engineering, business management and health sciences.

In October 2020, VinUniversity’s inaugural convocation ceremony was held on its beautiful campus located at Vinhomes Ocean Park, Hanoi, Vietnam. The University was set up with a total investment of VND 6,500 billions (approximately USD 285 millions) from Vingroup.

2024

January, 2024

VinUni's Bachelor of Nursing program has been officially recognized as a candidate for accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) in the United States. This recognition serves as evidence that VinUni's Bachelor of Nursing program has initially met the rigorous quality training requirements set by ACEN, laying the groundwork for ACEN to initiate the formal accreditation process in 2024.
2023

December, 2023

VinUni signed a memorandum of understanding with the State Agency for Technology Innovation - Ministry of Science and Technology to promote innovative activities, human resource training, and the development of indices for innovation management and solutions for science and technology management in key national economic sectors.

December, 2023

VinUni signed a memorandum of understanding with Saïd Business School - University of Oxford (ranked #1 in the world according to Times Higher Education rankings) for comprehensive collaboration in training, research, student experience, consulting, and entrepreneurship.

VinUni's VinHeritage Metaverse Museum won third prize at the prestigious QS Reimagine Education Awards 2023 in the category of "Immersive Experiential Learning". It also received the "Outstanding Digital Content Product in Education" Award from the Vietnam

VinUni's Center for Environmental Intelligence received a $250,000 grant from the U.S. National Science Foundation for an initiative called “Global Center for Climate Risk and Resilience: Southeast Asia as a Living Lab” (SEALL).

VinUni's College of Health Sciences was proud to be one of the only two universities in Southeast Asia to achieve ACGME-I international quality accreditation.

VinUni hosted the World Schools Debating Championship (WSDC) 2023 from July 20 to 27, with 65 teams representing 65 countries.

VinUni-Illinois Smart Health Center (VISHC) received the Excellence in Sustainable Development Award 2023 from ISCN.

VinUni opened the first Advanced Imaging Education Center (AIEC) in Viet Nam. AIEC was built in accordance with international standards with world leading experts from the UK, USA, Australia... to create an advanced training model that can overcome the limitations of traditional methods.

3D Technology in Medicine Center, VinUni was one of the first 3D laboratories in Vietnam to achieve ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System) and ISO 13485:2016 (Quality Management System for Medical Devices) certification.

VinUniversity Medical Simulation Center received Provisional Accreditation by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) - the world's largest accreditation organization specialized in healthcare simulation training.

October, 2022

VinUniversity was the youngest university in the Asia - Pacific region to receive 5 Star QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) ratings in 7 categories after only 2 years in operation.

VinUniversity launched the physical Entrepreneur Lab (E Lab) and celebrated Entrepreneurship Week.

VinUniversity and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign announced the opening of the VinUni-Illinois Smart Health Center (VISHC), which focuses on interdisciplinary research in biotechnology and data science. VISHC was officially given 13,5 million USD in funding from Vingroup.

VinUniversity announced its first Ph.D. in Computer Science program for the academic year 2022-2023, focusing on future technology with major impacts.

VinUniversity reached agreements with Meliá International Hotels Group, KPMG - one of the four world’s leading auditing firms, and Tiki - Vietnam’s top e-trade company, providing students with opportunities to experience "real learning - real practice" in the corporate environment.

VinUniversity signed agreements on Student Exchange programs with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Nyenrode Business University in the Netherlands, Pohang University of Science and Technology in South Korea, University of Toronto - Canada, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

VinUniversity successfully signed agreements with leading businesses, namely InterContinental Hotels, Techcombank, Woori Bank, FPT Telecom, Vinschool, Vincom Retails, and Vinhomes. VinUni and Vinmec held a celebration for the first two years of the VinUni - Vinmec alliance as well as appointed the next 60 experts and clinical professionals as new affiliated faculty.

VinUniversity successfully reached cooperation agreements on the integrated Bachelor’s - Master’s program with University of Pennsylvania, Cornell University, University of California, San Diego, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of Technology Sydney, Australia.

VinUniversity Global Case Competition (VGCC) 2021 was officially launched. This is an annual competition organized by VinUniversity with support from Cornell University, in order to provide a platform for students to work on real-life problems.

These include Industry Speaker Series, Industry Mentorship Program, 5 in 5 Internship, Summer Internship, etc

VinUni granted funding to 16 Seed-Funding projects in AY 2020-2021. Among these 16 projects, at least 13 projects involved international collaboration.

In the AY 2020-2021, VinUniversity continued to reach agreements with other leading universities such as Yonsei University, Seoul National University, Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Western University, University of Technology Sydney. VinUniversity has also signed cooperation agreement with Vingroup subsidiaries, namely Vinpearl, VinHMS, One Mount Group, VinBrain, Vinmec, VinBigdata, VinAI.

VinUniversity reached agreements with reputable academic and corporate and partners in Vietnam as well as in the world in faculty exchange, internship, employment, and joint research: the University of California, San Diego, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, POSTECH, Ernst & Young Vietnam, 108 Military Central Hospital, Vietnam National Children's Hospital, and so on.

The First Convocation of the first academic year 2020-2021 at VinUniversity marked the anniversary of opening the first talented and not for profit private university in Vietnam.

September, 2020

VinUni initiated the Study Away program via that VinUni has hosted 30 students from Cornell University and the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) who were not able to travel to their home universities due to the pandemic.

VinUniversity reached agreements with Cornell University, University of Technology Sydney and Yonsei School of Business on the exchanges of students offering opportunities for VinUni students to go for exchange at these universities.

The Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam granted the operating license officially allowing VinUniversity to offer academic programs.

The Ministry of Education and Training issued VinUniversity its operating license.

VinUniversity signed an agreement with VinBrain to collaborate in the training and exchange of human resources and scientific research, as well as sharing facilities.

VinUniversity's inauguration ceremony was held on its campus located at Vinhomes Ocean Park, Gia Lam, Hanoi.

The University Council of VinUniversity was officially formed. The Founding Donor recognized Dr. Le Mai Lan as the University President, and Professor Rohit Verma as the Founding Provost.

The Prime Minister of Vietnam officially approved the establishment of VinUniversity, with an expected inaugural class of 300 students.

November, 2019

VinUniversity Project announced the admission directives for the academic year 2020 - 2021, with three colleges: Business & Management, Health Sciences, and Engineering & Computer Science.
2018

November, 2018

Vingroup began construction of the VinUniversity campus.

April, 2018

Vingroup officially signed a collaboration contract with Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania, two of the top 20 universities in the world.

March, 2018

Vingroup announced its plan to enter the field of higher education under the name of VinUniversity.
2017

July, 2017

Vingroup approved the 30-year strategic master plan to build VinUniversity to become a world-class university, fostering and developing talents for future.
2016

February, 2016

Vingroup engaged Parthenon (E&Y) and Oxford Innovation (Oxford University) as international consultants to develop a feasibility plan to establish a brand new university, which is expected to be a breakthrough in higher education in Vietnam.
