Biography

Dr. Nguyen Van Dinh, MD, PhD, has over 12 years of experience in Allergy, Clinical Immunology, and medical education. He graduated the Degree of Medical doctor at Hanoi Medical University (HMU) in 2007, then he entered the residency program in Allergy and Clinical Immunology in 2011 with excellent standings. Awarded an Australia Awards Scholarship, he earned his PhD in Medicine at the University of Sydney in 2018. Dr. Nguyen has held clinical placements at major teaching hospitals in Australia and the U.S. and completed a Health Professional Education program at the University of Pennsylvania in 2023.

Currently, he serves as Head of the Internal Medicine Department and Director of the Center of Excellence in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at Vinmec Times City, Vice Director of the Institute of Immunology, and is affiliated with VinUniversity and Penn State College of Medicine. A member of key international organizations like AAAAI, EACCI, WAO, and APAACI, he also serves on several guideline panels and committees (Skin Allergy (WAO) and Drug Hypersensitivity (APAACI).

Dr. Nguyen’s research focuses on pharmacogenomics in drug hypersensitivity, with notable contributions to HLA associations with severe cutaneous adverse drug reactions (SCARs). He has published one edited book, five book chapters, 34 papers in Vietnamese journals, and 31 ISI/SCOPUS-indexed articles, garnering over 700 citations and an H-index of 12. He is an active reviewer for high-impact journals such as Allergy Journal, The Pharmacogenomics Journal and principal investigator on projects in pharmacogenomics, immunotherapy, hereditary angioedema, and atopic dermatitis.

Recognized with numerous awards, including the APAACI Best Paper Award (2013), Chairman’s Award of HocMai Foundation, University of Sydney (2016), The Best Article of the Year on Asia Pacific Allergy Journal (2018),  APSR Clinical Allergy and Immunology Assembly Award (2019) and Internal Medicine Residency Program Excellent Teacher Award, VinUniversity (2021). Dr. Nguyen has successfully supervised 5 master students, 2 residents and 1 PhD student.  He has been met the standards of Associate Professor, certified by the Vietnam State Council for Professorship.
