VinUniversity’s Official Agreement on The Integrated Bachelor’s-Master’s Program with The University of Pennsylvania for Students of the College of Engineering and Computer Science

July 19, 2022

Recently, VinUniversity successfully signed a general agreement to launch the 3+2 and/or 4+1 Degree-twinning program with its strategic partner, the University of Pennsylvania, USA (ranked #13 internationally according to QS World University Rankings 2022), for students at the College of Engineering and Computer Science at VinUniversity.

The program will be officially launched from the 2023-2024 academic year. VinUniversity is the first university in Vietnam and one of the first in the region to successfully sign an agreement on integrated Bachelor’s-Master’s Degree programs with UPenn.

Under the 3+2 program, students will study for 3 years at VinUniversity and complete the next 2 years at the University of Pennsylvania. Under the 4+1 program, students will study for 4 years at VinUni and 1 year at the University of Pennsylvania. After 5 years of study, students will earn a Bachelor’s degree from VinUniversity and a Master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. This pathway helps save 0.5 – 1 year of study compared to the conventional 4-year Bachelor’s followed by a 1.5 – 2-year Master’s program in the United States. More importantly, the enrollment of VinUniversity students in integrated degree programs and their admission into highly competitive and prestigious Master’s programs at UPenn right from their third year affirms the partner institution’s recognition of VinUniversity’s educational quality.

The University of Pennsylvania is one of the two strategic partners of VinUniversity. It is a private university in the Ivy League – a group of the United States’ most prestigious universities. Currently, the University of Pennsylvania is ranked #13 internationally by The Times Higher Education & QS World Universities rankings 2022, and ranked #2 globally for the most billionaire alumni. Penn Engineering is among the 18 best Engineering schools internationally (USNEWS 2022). For more than 100 years, Penn Engineering has always been at the forefront of innovation and creativity, staying true to the spirit of the founder of the University of Pennsylvania – America’s first scientist and engineer, Benjamin Franklin.

Previously, VinUniversity signed a Letter of Intent for implementing the integrated 3+2 and/or 4+1 Bachelor’s – Master’s Program with the University of Pennsylvania (USA) for students in the Bachelor of Nursing program.
