On July 30, VinUni officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UL Solutions – a global corporation headquartered in the United States, with more than 130 years of expertise in safety, security, and sustainability. This collaboration opens up new opportunities in research, innovation, and education.

Representing VinUni at the ceremony were Dr. Le Mai Lan – Vice Chairwoman of Vingroup and President of VinUni’s University Council; Dr. Phung Thi Viet Bac – Director of Research Management & Innovation; Dr. Pham Huy Hieu – Deputy Director of Research Management & Innovation; Ms. Nguyen Van Anh – Director of the Career, Alumni, Industry, Development (CAID), along with faculty members and representatives from various colleges.

From UL Solutions, participants included Mr. Suresh Sugavanam – Regional Vice President (Australia, New Zealand, South & Southeast Asia), Mr. Mathieu Do – Country Manager of UL Solutions Vietnam, Mr. David Nguyen – Global Account Director, and Ms. Nguyen Thu Cuc – Laboratory Manager of UL Solutions (Hai Phong branch).

Through this agreement, VinUni and UL Solutions will jointly implement several strategic initiatives, including:
- Collaborative research projects and joint laboratories at VinUni focusing on AI, cybersecurity, and green technologies.
- Internship, capstone, and mentorship programs with direct involvement from UL Solutions experts.
- Development of new product testing and certification standards, particularly in areas such as batteries and IoT devices.
UL Solutions emphasized that Vietnam is a key investment market and expressed confidence that the partnership with VinUni will contribute to strengthening national research capacity, fostering innovation, and advancing sustainable development.

This agreement also reaffirms VinUni’s pioneering role within Vietnam’s research and development ecosystem, providing students with opportunities to engage in projects of global scale.
