Panel discussion on Professional Identity Formation
Decision to become medical doctor has never been easy. It is the choice not only for study but also for a life-long career path.
On April 15, MD program has organized a panel discussion on “Professional Identity Formation” offering students opportunity to listen to guest speaker’s journey and their stories to become medical doctor.
The sharing has been diverse as we have speakers from clinical practice, education management, non-profit organization, and government leadership. “Letter of Uncle Ho” has been a “special gift” from Dr. Tac (Director of Science and Tech Department, MOH) to all audiences. Hopefully to give students more insights on the career they have chosen.
The panel discussion was well received by students. All panelists, particularly Dr. Tac from MOH were impressed by questions from our medical students. They asked lots of insightful questions about role and responsibilities of the doctors, real life clinical cases that we never forget, how to choose clinical specialty, how to overcome peer pressure and burnouts in the tough medical student life, any regrets. They also asked about harassment and other sensitive topics. More workshops with leadership’s theme will be organized under this series discussion and will be open to non-MD students.
