Assistant Professor - Data Science

Biography

Dr. Vu Van Khu is currently an Assistant Professor at College of Engineering and Computer Sciences (CECS), VinUniversity, Vietnam. Prior to this, he was a Senior Research Fellow II at Singapore University of Technology and Design, Singapore (April-August 2025); a Senior Research Manager at National University of Singapore (2020-2025); a Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (2018-2019); and a lecturer at Faculty of Mathematics, Mechanics, and Informatics, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (2010-2012).

Dr. Vu Van Khu received the bachelor degree in mathematics from Vietnam National University, Hanoi in 2010 and PhD degree in mathematics from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2018. His ultimate research goal is to study and develop mathematical tools in combinatorics, algebra, probability and statistics to invent original coding techniques and new algorithms to solve real world problems. He currently focuses on using combinatorics in coding theory with applications in several data storage systems and communication channels. He has published around 50 papers in top-tier venues, mostly in the IEEE ISIT and the IEEE Transactions on Information Theory.
