Biography

Dr. Varuneshwar Parsad is an internationally trained physician and anatomist with an MD in Anatomy and an MBBS degree, bringing together a strong foundation in basic sciences with practical clinical insight. His academic journey reflects a commitment to integrated, student-centered medical education that bridges anatomy with clinical application.

He began his academic career in India, serving in teaching and faculty roles across medical colleges, progressing from Tutor to Assistant Professor. During this period, he developed extensive experience in gross anatomy, embryology, and cadaveric dissection, while actively participating in curriculum delivery, student mentoring, and academic assessment.

To broaden his impact in global medical education, Dr. Parsad later moved to the Caribbean, where he served as Assistant Professor and was subsequently promoted to Associate Professor at the Medical University of the Americas, Saint Kitts and Nevis. He was a key faculty member in the Human Body Structure and Function course, delivering system-based, integrated teaching across anatomy and related disciplines. In addition, he contributed to Systems and Disease and Foundations of Clinical Medicine courses, strengthening students’ understanding of clinical correlations. He also served as a Course Director for Organismal Biology, supported students through academic remediation, and worked as a mock examiner for Clinical Skills Examinations, helping prepare students for international licensure pathways.

Dr. Parsad’s scholarly interests include anatomical variations, innovative teaching strategies, and the integration of foundational sciences with clinical medicine. He remains actively engaged in academic writing, peer review, and conference presentations, and is passionate about collaborative teaching, mentorship, and continuous improvement in medical education.
