Biography

Dr. Lena Le received her Ph.D. in International Relations from Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) in 2017, and her Master’s degree in International Relations from the Australian National University (ANU), Australia, in 2009. Before joining VinUniversity, she served as Head of the International Relations Division, Faculty of International Studies, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU and a member of the Advisory Council on Social and Behavioral Sciences at VNU

Her international academic experience includes participation in visiting scholar and visiting fellow programs at leading institutions, including the Stimson Center in Washington, D.C. (2024–2025), the Australian National University (2018), the University of South Australia (2016), and the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) (2014).

Her research centers on Asia–Pacific international relations, ASEAN political–security cooperation, regional institutional dynamics, Vietnam’s foreign policy, and the role of intangible factors in shaping international outcomes. Dr. Le is the author of a monograph on ASEAN centrality and has published many academic works, including peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, policy papers, and conference proceedings in national and international outlets.

Her academic contributions have been recognized through several prestigious fellowships and awards, including the Fulbright Vietnamese Scholar Program, the Australia–APEC Women in Research Fellowship, the Sasakawa Fellowship, the Endeavour Research Fellowship, the DAAD Fellowship, the Ford Foundation Scholarship, and ASEAN University Network Scholarship.
