Biography

Dr. Jayendra Bajracharya completed his first professional degree in Medicine (MBBS) from Quaid-i-azam Medical College, Pakistan in 2000. After working as a junior doctor for a few years, he pursued his interests in basic medical sciences and obtained a master’s in molecular biology from California State University Long Beach, USA in 2008. He began his teaching career in 2009 as an adjunct faculty in various colleges in California and Arizona, USA. In 2011, he joined Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences, Nepal as a faculty in Biochemistry and served there in multiple roles (PBL Coordinator, Skill Lab Coordinator, PG Program Coordinator, Chief of Academics) for 10 years. In 2017, he led the establishment and operation of a simulation laboratory in the institute. In 2021, he joined Madan Bhandari Academy of Health Sciences, Nepal as the Head of the Department of Laboratory Medicine. In 2022, he worked as the Medical Superintendent at Nepal Mediciti Hospital, a tertiary care superspecialty hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal. In 2024, he completed his Master’s in Health Professions Education (MHPE) from Maastricht University, The Netherlands. Since 2023, he has worked as a quality improvement and educational consultant for healthcare institutions in Nepal.

Dr. Bajracharya carries special interests in simulation education and resuscitation education. He has been an American Heart Association (AHA) instructor of Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) since 2018. Additionally, he holds instructor status for other AHA courses – Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS). He worked as the training center faculty at the Center for Medical Simulation, an AHA-certified training center in Nepal. He received certification as the Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) in 2024 from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH), USA.

Dr. Bajracharya received the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Commendation Medal in 2019 for his excellent service as an academician at the Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences.
