Biography

Dr. Hoang Bao Long received his Medical Doctor (MD) degree at Hanoi Medical University in 2012 and Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at Johns Hopkins University in 2021. He was a study doctor at the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit in Hanoi between 2014 and 2019, a research manager and epidemiologist at the Institute of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Hanoi since 2018, and a data engineer and adjunct research faculty member at College of Health Sciences, VinUniversity since 2023. Dr. Long is also a research consultant for many public and private hospitals, and an invited instructor for courses in epidemiology and biostatistics at hospitals and universities across Vietnam. Dr. Long has a wide range of interests in medical research, from epidemiologic designs, causal inference, to statistical methods in clinical research. He is most interested in measurement, measurement error, and latent variable modeling. Dr. Long is a co-author in more than 30 peer-reviewed international journals, in many of which he was the key person who designed the study, analyzed the data, and edited the manuscript. He is a senior investigator in two national grants funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology and in one ministry-level grant funded by the Ministry of Health.
