Biography

Professor Duc Khuong Nguyen brings extensive experience in strategic consulting and advisory services in financial economics and sustainable development, working with governments, local authorities, and multinational corporations.

He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Grenoble Alpes (France) and an HDR (Habilitation to Supervise Doctoral Research) in Management Science from CY Cergy Paris University (France). In 2013, he completed the “Leaders in Development” Executive Education Program at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Professor Nguyen currently serves on Vietnam’s National Advisory Council on Science, Technology, Digital Transformation, and Innovation, and previously served on the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of Vietnam (2017–2021).

In September 2023, Professor Nguyen joined De Vinci Higher Education as Director of International Development and Associate Dean at EMLV Business School (AACSB/AMBA/EFMD-accredited). He later served as Acting Dean and Dean (Managing Director) of EMLV Business School from December 2023 to November 2025. Prior to this, he held senior leadership positions at IPAG Business School, including Department Head, Dean for Research, Dean of Faculty and Research, and Interim Director General.

His earlier academic appointments include Professor of Finance and Head of the Department of Finance and Information Systems at ISC Paris Business School, Lecturer at Grenoble Graduate Institute of Business, and Research and Teaching Assistant at EM Lyon Business School.

Professor Nguyen is also a Senior Departmental Fellow in the Department of Land Economy at the University of Cambridge, and a Visiting Professor at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi – International School, and the Prague University of Economics and Business. He has served as a Non-Resident Research Fellow at the Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, Indiana University, and as a Research Associate at the Department of Finance, Centre d’Économie de la Sorbonne (CES), University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (2011–2015).

He is actively engaged in editorial work, serving as Co-Editor-in-Chief of Politická ekonomie (Political Economy), Editor of Annals of Operations Research, Co-Editor for the Middle East, Asia, and the Pacific of Journal of Economic Asymmetries, Department Editor of Journal of Forecasting, Subject Editor at Emerging Markets Review and Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions, and Money, Associate Editor at Finance Research LettersInternational Review of Financial AnalysisEnvironmental Modeling & Assessment, and Area Editor at Research in International Business and Finance.

His current research focuses on climate transition, technological innovation, and corporate resilience and sustainability in the face of unforeseen market shocks.
