Biography

Dr. Tung holds an MD from HMU (2015) and an MPH from Johns Hopkins (2017, sponsored by the Vietnam Education Foundation), with a focus on global cancer epidemiology and prevention. After returning to Vietnam and working at Hanoi Medical University for 2 years, he pursued dual degrees at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health: a Ph.D. in Cancer Epidemiology and Prevention and an MSc in Biostatistics. At Harvard, Dr. Tung served as Lead Teaching Fellow, Lead Statistical Consultant, and Curriculum Fellow for the Master of Public Health in Epidemiology (MPH-EPI) program. His accolades include the Excellence in Teaching Award, Certificate of Distinction in Teaching, Harvey Fineberg Fellowship in Cancer Prevention, and David H. Peipers Fellowship. His research interests span cancer prevention strategies in low-resource settings, gene-environment interactions, cancer risk, mental health, and medical education.
