Nearly 50 students – One new path for Science at VinUniversity

For many years, for young Vietnamese passionate about science and technology, the path to postgraduate study has seemed fairly familiar: going abroad, or continuing their studies in Vietnam with limited research opportunities. Today, a different path begins.
VinUniversity has officially welcomed the first cohort of the Master of Science (MSc) programs – nearly 50 founding students selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants across three disciplines: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
President Mai Lan delivered insightful and inspiring remarks to welcome our first MSc cohort.
The program was designed with a big question in mind: What would it take to help young scientists focus fully on doing real research?
At VinUniversity, that means:
- 100% tuition covered
- A monthly stipend of 20 million VND
- Research funding and support for scientific publications
- Opportunities to work closely with leading professors and scientists, joining research groups to tackle real-world scientific and technological challenges
Our master’s student, Do Minh Phung, delivered a speech as the student representative at the ceremony.
It is to empower problem solvers – researchers who can turn ideas into discoveries, and knowledge into impact. As the founding cohort of VinUni’s MSc program, these students are not just beginning their own journey.
