THE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS & MANAGEMENT

The College offers two degree programs: Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management. With our AACSB compliance, Cornell University certified curricula, world-class international and Vietnamese faculty members, modern pedagogical approaches, and infrastructure at the forefront of technology, we will prepare our students to become leaders and innovators with entrepreneurial mindset, to be employed by top employers or successfully self-employed.

With a vision to become a research focused college, the College of Business and Management will soon offer different graduate programs and provide the desirable research environment for our faculty members to conduct world-class research and pursue advances in business. Moreover, with the advantage of being in the ecosystem of Vingroup with a number of leading companies such as Vinpearl, Vinhomes, VinFast and Vincom Retail, the College will collaborate closely with these companies in research to create breakthrough products, services and solutions.

The College of Business and Management at VinUniversity is recruiting faculty members in the following disciplines:

  • Operation and Supply Management
  • Business Analytics
  • Marketing
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Finance
  • Hospitality Management

The College of Business and Management adjunct faculty members will be responsible for teaching & service activities for a designated course at VinUniversity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop course syllabi (for new courses) in accordance with VinUniversity and CBM guidelines. All course syllabi should incorporate TBL (Team-based Learning), PBL (Project-based Learning), and ABL (Action-based Learning) to align with VinUniversity’s teaching philosophy.
  • Conduct 45 hours of teaching per term.
  • Commit to teaching according to the agreed schedule, which includes delivering lectures, assigning homework, conducting examinations, overseeing projects, and assessing students.
  • Hold weekly 02 office hours, either online or offline.
  • Maintain timely communication with students, addressing their questions and requests through emails or other communication channels.
  • Adhere to VinUniversity’s Academic Regulations, Academic Integrity policies, Code of Conduct, and Academic Timeline.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director, Teaching Assistant, or Academic Assistants to resolve any emerging issues.
  • Join 02 Faculty meetings at the beginning & end of the term.

KEY DELIVERABLES

  • How well the validated course syllabus is followed.
  • Quality of student learning outcomes (how well learning goals and objectives are accomplished).
  • Adoption of active learning pedagogy (student centered learning environment).
  • Quality of teaching materials developed and adopted.
  • High students satisfaction according to VinUni’s course evaluation by students.
  • Timely communication of course materials to students (e.g: syllabus upload on Canvas, grades,ect.).

NOTES

  • The course syllabus must be approved by the Program Director before being uploaded to Canvas.
  • An approved syllabus and teaching materials should be uploaded to Canvas at least two weeks prior to the start of the semester (Please note that this may need to be done before your contract term begins).
  • Three final exam papers, including rubrics and key answers, must be submitted for the Program Director’s approval at least five days before the final examination date.
  • Any changes to the agreed schedule should be approved by the Program Director and communicated to the Academic Assistant responsible for Teaching & Learning.
  • One teaching assistant (TA) can be assigned upon your request and the tasks and responsibilities of the TA is to be finalized by the instructor and the TA.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA 

  • Possess a doctorate degree, be currently enrolled in a PhD program, or hold a master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of management experience in related fields from well-established universities.
  • Have a strong knowledge of the subject area combined with a broad subject background enabling contributions to teaching programs.
  • Have good experience in experiential leaning methods such as TBL (Team-based Learning), PBL (Project-based Learning), ABL (Action-based Learning) and can successfully employ them in all courses.
  • Demonstrate a record of teaching excellence (student evaluation, teaching award, etc.).
  • Have a high spirit and strong passion for education; agile to embrace changes and take on new challenges; willing to adopt and actively employ new teaching methods; open-minded to new and different environments; team-player willing to contribute to organizational goals and initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who are capable of engaging in the full course delivery in person.

LIVING AND WORKING IN HANOI, VIETNAM

Living costs: Vietnam has a comparatively low cost of living and expatriates can live a very comfortable life here with a moderate expenditure.

COMPENSATION

The salary benefits are internationally competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. For visiting faculty living outside of Vietnam, VinUniversity will offer 01 round trip tickets, up to 04 weeks of accommodation, visa & airport pickups support.
