From US to Vietnam: An Exclusive MBA Study Tour Experience

Recently, VinUni was delighted to host a delegation of 17 MBA and undergraduate students and faculty from the University of Baltimore, who embarked on an immersive journey into the heart of Vietnam’s tech and innovation scene. Organized by VinUniversity’s Global Engagement Department, the group visited the renowned Lumi Smart Factory in Vinh Phuc Province — one of Vietnam’s leading pioneers in smart home and IoT technologies.
“As an MBA student, I never imagined I’d witness such cutting‑edge smart home solutions being developed right here in Vietnam. Lumi’s drive to expand globally is truly inspiring,” shared Michael, an MBA student from the University of Baltimore.
More than just a factory tour, this was a dynamic, hands‑on exploration of Vietnamese entrepreneurship and high‑tech manufacturing. “Seeing how a local company scales internationally was eye‑opening. It gave me a whole new perspective on innovation beyond Silicon Valley,” reflected Emily, an undergraduate student.
Throughout the visit, the delegation gained unique insights into Lumi’s forward‑thinking R&D, its strategic approach to global markets, and the complex challenges of growing a technology business on the international stage. This experience offered students an invaluable, first‑hand look at Vietnam’s booming technology ecosystem — and its rising role in the global innovation map.
