Overview of Student Experience at Universities Around the World During and Post Covid-19

Despite the recent world events, students will have to go back to school and there has historically never been more questions and concerns surrounding education. Not limited to Vietnam, but this wave of concerns is becoming global. The entire canvas of higher education is now speculating huge changes over the impacts of COVID-19.
According to UNESCO, more than 1 billion students and young people across the globe are affected by school and university closures due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
A few months ago, colleges and universities across the world had to cancel in-person classes and switched to teaching their courses online, as the battle against the novel coronavirus escalated. In March, Columbia, Harvard, NYU, and other major US educational institutions had switched to remote classes and were telling students to move out of dorms to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the United States.
With public health consideration, our strategic partner, Cornell University is planning to welcome students back to their campus in Ithaca for a fall semester blending in-person and online instruction. Changes in operations including requirements for masks, assigned seats and bathrooms on campus, to-go or online reservation in the canteen, and restrictions on social gatherings will be strictly implemented. Meanwhile, other universities in the US that had previously announced plans to reopen their campuses this fall have reversed their decisions due to the spike of coronavirus infections, namely The University of Southern California and Texas State University, therefore much is still uncertain.
In Asia, universities have reopened with staggered classes and phased cohorts. At the National University of Singapore (NUS), returning students in August will have their temperatures checked and their locations tracked on an app via a national digital check-in system.
In such conditions, the question has been raised about whether students are still comfortable to learn?
