VinUniversity Graduation 2026: A blueprint for the university of the future

June 27, 2026

On the morning of June 27, VinUniversity held its 2026 Graduation Ceremony, conferring degrees upon 200 graduates from three academic fields: Business and Management; Engineering and Computer Science; and Health Sciences. This year’s ceremony also offered a compelling vision of a university of the future gradually tak of “Future Makers” individuals ready to shape the future in the spirit of “Born in Vietnam. Built for the World.”

The VinUni Graduation Ceremony 2026 marked the coming of age of a generation of “Future Makers” educated and nurtured in Vietnam young people who dare to think bigger, persevere in turning ideas into action, and are ready to step onto the global stage to help create a better future for all.

The ceremony also represented a historic milestone as VinUni celebrated the graduation of its first cohort of Medical Doctors from a program co-designed and validated by the University of Pennsylvania. A member of the prestigious Ivy League, Penn consistently ranks among the world’s Top 20 universities in leading global rankings, including QS, Times Higher Education, and U.S. News & World Report.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Le Mai Lan presented VinUni’s vision of a university of the future: a university powered by technology, strengthened by international collaboration, and, above all, driven by ambition and compassion.

She also congratulated the graduates VinUni’s “Future Makers” – and encouraged them to step confidently into the world and demonstrate the power of Make in Vietnam ingenuity.

One of the ceremony’s most memorable moments was the appearance of the humanoid robot Dyno, alongside an inspiring address by Dr. La Manh Hung, Chairman of VinDynamics.

Rather than beginning with robots or artificial intelligence, Dr. Hung shared his personal journey from a boy raised in a military family in Vietnam, to a professor of robotics in the United States, and ultimately back to his homeland to build VinDynamics.

He offered the graduates a simple yet profound message: “Success does not come from luck or a single magical moment. It is built through thousands of small things done well, consistently, over a very long period of time.”

That same spirit enabled VinDynamics to build a team of more than 200 engineers and develop its first robot humanoid in Vietnam in just eight months.

Following the speech, the humanoid robot Dyno walked onto the stage as a symbol of a future in which people and technology advance together.

Dyno offers a vivid demonstration of the journey from early experiments to the gradual realization of Vietnam’s ambition to take part in the global robotics race.

This year’s Graduation Ceremony also marked an important step forward as senior leaders from across the Vingroup ecosystem including VinFast, VinRobotics, VinDynamics, Vinmec, VinVentures, and VinFuture joined VinUni in developing the V-RIC Research and Innovation Complex.

V-RIC is envisioned as an integrated network of laboratories and sandbox testing environments operating under a co-creation model and directly connected to the product development cycles of companies across the ecosystem.

It will provide VinUni students and researchers with opportunities to work on real-world challenges, test practical solutions, and gain early exposure to innovation-driven environments in fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, electric vehicles, semiconductors, and high-tech entrepreneurship.

During the Graduation Ceremony, VinUniversity and the University of Pennsylvania formally exchanged a new cooperation agreement, marking an important development in the comprehensive strategic partnership established between the two institutions in 2018.

The agreement will expand student and faculty exchanges, as well as research collaboration, between VinUni and schools across the University of Pennsylvania not only the Perelman School of Medicine.

In particular, VinUni and Penn aim to co-design and co-deliver master’s programs and short-term training courses in Medical Education, Health Systems Leadership, and Hospital Management. These initiatives will help address the growing need for highly qualified healthcare management professionals in Vietnam and across the region.

Representing the graduating class, newly qualified physician Hoang Tran Tung Nhan shared that among the most valuable outcomes of his years at VinUni were the ability to move beyond personal limitations, a commitment to lifelong learning, and a strong sense of responsibility toward society.

Nhan offered his fellow graduates the following message: “Chase the feeling of being truly, fiercely, and fully alive. Every moment of your existence is a moment in which you have the power to experience, to change, and to act. Perhaps that is the spirit of a VinUnian. Whatever path each of us chooses after today, may we continue to move forward with knowledge, compassion, and courage, creating a positive impact on our communities, our country, and the world.”

His words captured the spirit of the “Future Makers” – a generation expected to bring about meaningful and positive change in Vietnam and beyond.

The moment each graduate received their degree marked the culmination of a journey shaped by an internationally benchmarked education delivered in Vietnam.

The Class of 2026 was also the first graduating cohort of VinUni’s Medical Doctor program, which was co-developed with the University of Pennsylvania in the United States.

VinUni’s medical residency and Bachelor of Nursing programs have also become the first programs of their kind in Vietnam to earn international accreditation, while attracting a growing number of international students. This reflects the increasing appeal and recognition of VinUni’s model of health sciences education.

As graduation caps filled the sky, one chapter came to a close and a new journey began for 200 “Future Makers,” who leave VinUni with impressive outcomes.

More than 55% of the Class of 2026 had received employment offers before graduation, with competitive compensation packages from leading organizations such as SAP, IBM, Amazon, TikTok, Shopee, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Boston Consulting Group, VNG, FPT Software, and Unilever.

Many Engineering and Computer Science graduates have officially joined technology companies within the Vingroup ecosystem, including VinFast, VinMotion, VinSmart Future, VinDynamics, and VinSOC.

The Vinmec International Healthcare System has also welcomed all VinUni nursing graduates and newly qualified doctors with extensive career opportunities, competitive salaries, and pathways to continue into medical residency training.

In addition, more than 23% of the graduates have received offers to pursue master’s or doctoral studies at leading universities, including the University of Pennsylvania, Cornell University, Nanyang Technological University Singapore, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Peking University, the Australian National University, and the University of Queensland.

As the ceremony came to a close, VinUniversity had done more than confer degrees upon 200 graduates. It had also presented a vision of a new university model being built in Vietnam one where digital technology, global integration, and an innovation ecosystem are grounded in humanistic values, bold ambition, and a commitment to serving society.

It is a university defined by the spirit of: “Born in Vietnam. Built for the World.”
