About the Speakers
QUIS18 is honored to introduce 3 keynote speakers: Professor Xiande Zhao, Professor Suresh Sethi, and Professor Jia Zhang. Using examples from several service industries such as hospitality and healthcare, the speakers will illustrate how leading organizations are developing innovative solutions to address supply chain disruptions.
Professor Suresh Sethi
Professor Suresh Sethi is Eugene McDermott, Chair Professor of Operations Management and Director of the Center for Intelligent Supply Networks at The University of Texas at Dallas. He has written 11 books and published over 400 research papers in the fields of manufacturing and operations management, finance and economics, marketing, and optimization theory. He serves on the editorial boards of several journals, including Production and Operations Management and SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization. Dr. Suresh Sethi’s research areas are supply-chain management, stochastic inventory models, dynamic advertising problems, and mathematical finance. He developed the first stochastic advertising model, the Sethi model, which is used to analyze the dynamic relationship between advertising and sales.
Professor Zhao Xiande
Professor Zhao Xiande is JD.COM Chair Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management, Associate Dean (Shenzhen Campus), President of CEIBS Institute of Supply Chain Innovations, Director of CEIBS-ZKH Centre for Innovation in Supply Chains and Services, and Co-Director of the Digital Transformation of Enterprises Course of CEIBS. Professor Zhao’s expertise is in Operations and Supply Chain Management. His research interests mainly focus on supply chain management and innovation, network-based service and business model innovation, supply chain finance, supply chain integration, digital supply chain, supply chain optimization using big data. He published five influential books and has published over 180 journal articles in leading journals. He has been recognized as the World’s Most Cited Chinese Researchers published by Elsevier (2014-2019) for six consecutive years and also received more than 10 academic honors, including the Jack Meredith Best Paper Award from the Journal of Operations Management is the best journal in the area of operations management in the world.
Co-chair, Professor Per Kristensson
Professor Per Kristensson is Professor at the Service Research Center at Karlstad University – in Karlstad, Sweden. Dr. Kristensson’s research focus typically circles creativity, innovation, decision-making, behavior change, service management and consumer psychology. In many of his research articles psychological theories are used to explain challenges and aspects related to customers. Dr. Kristensson has received Best Paper Award at Quality in Service, QUIS 12, and International Product Development Management, IPDM 12 and was the runner-up for Best Article Award 2004 for Journal of Service Research. He won the Grand Prix speakers award at Karlstad University in 2013.
