Vietnam Industry Innovation Workshop Series: VinUni’s Pioneering Initiative with the University of Oxford and Portulans Institute
From October 4 to November 1, VinUni’s Agile Innovation Center (AIC) hosted the Vietnam Industry Innovation Workshop Series, a groundbreaking collaboration with the University of Oxford and the Portulans Institute. As part of the Vietnam Industry Innovation Research (VIIR) project, this workshop series marks Southeast Asia’s first interdisciplinary, industry-specific innovation study.
The project’s primary goal is the development of the Vietnam Industry Innovation Index (VIII), a comprehensive tool to evaluate the current state of innovation across key sectors. This index will help identify each sector’s strengths, weaknesses, and essential drivers of innovation. Focused on industries like Tourism, Healthcare, Education, Aquaculture and Fisheries, Food Processing, Real Estate, and Construction, the initiative aims to set new benchmarks for industry-level innovation in Vietnam.
Throughout six workshops, 20-30 experts from government, business, and industry associations discussed frameworks, shared insights, and explored tailored solutions to enhance innovation in each sector.
AIC’s role as the organizing unit was crucial in bringing stakeholders together, creating an interactive platform to drive industry-specific innovation. This initiative exemplifies VinUni’s dedication to advancing sustainable, innovative solutions for Vietnam’s economic landscape.
