Biography

Dr. Quynh earned her master’s degree in public health, specializing in health policy and management, from Chulalongkorn University where she pursued a Ph.D. Additionally, she completed the second master’s degree in social work with a clinical-health focus at Boston College, further enhancing her skill set through a two-year clinical internship at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Quynh’s advocacy extends to mental health, the integration of psychosocial care into the medical sector, and improved healthcare access for underprivileged groups. She is celebrated as a pioneer in medical social work in Vietnam and is recognized as the country’s first palliative care social worker.

Prior to her Role at VinUni, Quynh served as a lecturer at the Vietnam University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City, an adjunct lecturer in the Department of Palliative Care at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Ho Chi Minh City, and a Senior Social Work Consultant at the University Medical Centre of Ho Chi Minh City.

Beyond her professional roles, Dr. Quynh plays a pivotal role in shaping healthcare policies and strategies. She is an active member of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Palliative Health Care Association, contributing significantly to the advancement of palliative care in Vietnam. In 2021, she served as the coordinator for the COVID-19 Taskforce of the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts, offering consultation for to the government on public health policies and strategies. At present, she holds the position of Mental Health Lead within the association’s Medical Network. In 2020, she collaborated with a World Health Organization consultant team to develop the Essential Package of Palliative Care for Women with Cervical Cancer, addressing the specific needs of this highly vulnerable population and further showcasing her commitment to compassionate healthcare. Dr. Quynh was honored with the prestigious “40 Under 40 Public Health Catalyst Award” by the Boston Congress of Public Health in 2022.
