VinUni’s green – sustainable development efforts and lessons from the President of Singapore Management University (SMU)

A senior mission from the Singapore Management University (SMU), led by President – Prof. Lily Kong, is visiting VinUni on 23 April, 2024. On this special occasion, VinUni, in partnership with SMU, is pleased to invite you to attend a public talk on the topic: “Singapore: The making of a sustainable city-state”. This is one of the activities aligned with the objective of Vingroup and VinUni in contributing to Vietnam’s green and sustainable development. 

At this upcoming event, Prof. Lily Kong will share with the audience invaluable experience and insights on: 

👉 Singapore’s journey of a sustainable city – environmentally, socially and culturally.  

👉 Highlight of Singapore’s approach of integrated master planning and dynamic urban governance and the triple helix approach of collaboration between academia, industry and government. 

👉 The possibility of cooperation between Singapore and Vietnam through university-university and university-industry collaboration.

Professor Kong previously served as Provost before assuming the role of the 5th President of SMU. She is the first Singaporean woman to hold the position of President of a university in this island nation. Prior to joining SMU, she was the Deputy Provost (Education) and held senior management positions at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Professor Kong is renowned for her research on urban transformation and socio-cultural change in Asia. She has received numerous prestigious international scholarships and was listed in Forbes Asia’s Top 50 Influential Women over 50 (2022).
