VinUni Center for Environmental Intelligence Hosts Successful Scientific Conference on Environmental Intelligence and Sustainable Design

VinUni recently organized a highly successful scientific conference on environmental intelligence and sustainable design, attracting over 100 distinguished attendees, including outstanding scientists and researchers from both domestic and foreign universities and research centers. Notable figures such as Professor Alexandre Bayen, Vice Chancellor for Moffett Field Program Development at UC Berkeley, and Professor Helen Nguyen, Ivan Racheff Professor of Environmental Engineering at CEE, the Grainger College of Engineering Civil & Environmental Engineering, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, delivered insightful lectures.

The workshop aimed to provide a discussion platform for experts, researchers, industrial partners to find solutions addressing environmental challenges that Vietnam and the world are facing.  focus on three themes: Environmental Monitoring, Living Lab, and Materials for Sustainability, with a rich program including panel discussions, invited talks, design thinking contest.

The conference served as a platform for in-depth discussions on pressing environmental issues in Vietnam, paving the way for numerous collaborative projects. These initiatives, particularly in partnership with ESG VinFast, UC Berkeley, EDF, IRD, Vietnam National University Ha Noi, aim to address critical challenges and promote sustainable development.

As a noteworthy side event, Professor Novoselov’s visit with the Materials group, despite being unable to participate on the scheduled day, provided an invaluable opportunity to delve into environmental issues and foster meaningful dialogue within the scientific community.

VinUni and CEI emerge from this conference as a key player, solidifying its position as the hub for environmental research and sustainable development in Vietnam.
