The 2025 VinUni Accelerating Research Excellence Program (AREP-25) invites innovative, ambitious, and high-impact research proposals that push the boundaries of knowledge and collaboration. The program aims to stimulate and accelerate research initiatives that advance scholarly excellence, foster meaningful partnerships, and generate real-world impact. 

Through this program, we aim to: 

• Build research capacity by empowering VinUni emerging and established scholars to pursue transformative inquiry. 

• Enhance research quality through targeted support, mentorship, and collaboration. 

• Advance VinUni’s research programs and global impact through high-quality outputs and visibility. 

• Strengthen the research ecosystem by fostering innovation, collaboration, and institutional capability. 

• Promote interdisciplinary and inter-institutional collaboration with leading national and global partners to tackle complex challenges. 

• Amplify research excellence and societal impact by translating discoveries into academic, social, and economic value. 

Faculty and researchers with creative ideas and a clear path to implementation are strongly encouraged to apply. 

1. Funding Amount 

• Maximum proposed funding: up to $100,000 per project 

• Duration: 12-24 months (no extension) 

• Funding will be determined based on the project’s scope and deliverables. 

 2. Eligibility 

• Open to all full-time VinUni faculty and researchers. Full-time faculty or researchers serve as PIs, while affiliate faculty may serve as Co-PIs. The PI holds primary responsibility for project leadership, research integrity, and grant management, ensuring the successful delivery of project outcomes. 
• While PIs must be from VinUni, Co-PIs or collaborators may be external experts who are well-established in their respective fields, with priority given to those from institutions that have an MoU with VinUni or who hold an affiliated appointment or Distinguished Professorship at VinUni.
